I am pleased to extend an invitation to the Sixth Congress of the Slovenian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The congress will be held at the Austria Trend Hotel Ljubljana from June 6th to 7th, 2025.
The congress will feature participation from colleagues representing over 20 countries.
Gastrointestinal diseases represent a major burden on the population and the health system. The proportion of patients with gastrointestinal diseases is constantly increasing, not only due to the aging of the population, but also the way of life nowadays. Progress with new findings, development of new therapeutic approaches, new diagnostic methods contribute to a better treatment outcome, but at the same time they pose additional challenges. Research in many areas of gastroenterology and hepatology continues to progress rapidly.
The key for us clinics is to follow this and integrate innovations into our daily work in a timely manner, because only in this way will we be able to offer superior and sufficiently high-quality treatment to our patients.
The meeting will showcase innovations in gastroenterology, including IBD, lower and upper gastrointestinal tract diseases, liver, pancreas, endoscopy, imaging diagnostics, pathology, and surgery.
A dedicated section will explore the current and future role of artificial intelligence in the field.
Preceding the congress, the Central European Gastroenterology Forum will take place on June 5th, 2025. The forum will facilitate discussions on treatment quality, diverse practices across different settings, and strategies for harmonizing and elevating standards of care. It also seeks to foster collaboration within the Central European region.
The congress is intended for physicians in GI/hepatology, abdominal surgery, radiology, oncology, pathology, general medicine, and medical technicians.
The Slovenian Association of Medical Technicians will also hold a parallel professional meeting in GI endoscopy.
We would also like to invite abstract submissions for poster presentations. Posters should present original research, clinical cases, or innovative practices in gastroenterology and hepatology. Abstract submissions will be accepted until April 15th, 2025. Selected posters will be displayed throughout the congress, with dedicated viewing sessions scheduled during breaks.
Guidelines for poster submissions and abstract format requirements will be available on the congress website (www.szgh.si). Authors of accepted posters will be notified by May 1st, 2025.
Our meetings are supported by sponsors. Don’t miss the chance to present your company, achievements, and exchange opinions with experts passionate about improving the health and lives of people with gastrointestinal diseases.
